Change in sports badge coordination: New heads, a breath of fresh air for Oldenburg!

A lot is happening in Cologne's sports scene: After many years, Frank Vehren is handing over the management of the sports badge coordination in Oldenburg. This office, which he carried out with great dedication and commitment, will now pass to Reiner Trosiener and Lars Müller. This not only marks a change at the top, but also sets a clear tone in terms of personnel and structural alignment. The sports badge continues to play a central role in Oldenburg's popular sports, that's for sure.

Vheren was responsible for organizing the acceptance tests and providing the material for many years. His successors, Trosiener and Müller, have already emphasized how important teamwork is for them and emphasized their respect for the work Vehren has done. Müller, who has been active as an examiner for 15 years, is convinced that the new course will strengthen structures and improve networking among examiners. “We want to further develop the offer and link the sports badge even more closely with the sports clubs in the city,” he explains.

Sports badge: challenges for everyone

The sports badge is a badge of honor recognized by the Federal President and offers a wide range of individual challenges. The disciplines cover endurance, strength, speed and coordination - there is something for every age group. The certifications are possible in bronze, silver or gold, and the personal certificate makes the small fitness test all the more honorable.

The requirements for the sports badge are staggered by age group and participation is open to all age groups. A special feature this year is that there will be no preparation courses. The testing takes place every Monday in the Marschwegstadion from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The warm-up training, which begins at 5:30 p.m., remains the same. This creates the perfect opportunity to exercise and get in touch with like-minded people at the same time.

Integration and accessibility

Trosiener and Müller also pay great attention to the integrative power of sport. Marina Kovalcikova, who addresses migrants as an examiner, is just one example of the open approach that the new team wants to take. The sports badge is also open to people with disabilities, which further expands their eligibility. “Everyone can take part,” emphasizes Müller and is optimistic about the future.

Another important point is taking part in the sports badge as proof of fitness for various professional groups such as the fire brigade, police or customs. Trained participants must provide proof of swimming once for adults, while for children and young people this is only required the first time. The sports badge can be picked up after a small fee of 3 euros at the City Sports Association office at Peterstrasse 1, where the doors are closed from July 27th to August 14th.

Those responsible are impressed by the positive response to the program, and the sports badge remains an integral part of sporting life in Cologne. So if you want to do some sport and make new acquaintances at the same time, you shouldn't miss the acceptance dates. Further information is available on the city sports association website and other platforms such as FrankVehren.de or TBE 1844.
