Important information for the population
The search for missing people is notoriously challenging. As in other cities, each missing person case in Lower Saxony is treated individually. This is particularly true if there is a risk to the person concerned, as in the case of Iris P., who is dependent on her medication. Police forces are doing everything they can to find the missing person quickly. This is particularly difficult because the first few hours are crucial. The longer a person is missing, the greater the risk they become.
Cooperation between police and relatives is also important. Parents and family members must speak openly with law enforcement in order to provide valuable information. “We first visit the place of residence of the missing person and speak to the relatives there to get an initial overview of possible contact points,” explains Torben Konrad, chief detective in Düsseldorf, in a report by WDR.
The criminal investigation department has a wide range of options for finding missing people. In addition to the usual investigations, modern technology and large operational teams are also used to support the search operations. Whether helicopters or location measures – there are a variety of resources to provide quick help. Time plays a crucial role here.
We hope for the public's help and call on all citizens to be vigilant and to report any people or vehicles they may see. Every clue can be crucial in bringing Iris P. back home safe and sound.
