Important donation for DLRG Stade: New emergency backpacks are ready!
The DLRG Ortsgruppe Stade e.V. has received a significant financial boost that will further improve safety on the waters in Stade. The consulting company Banking-Partner has given the DLRG donations in kind worth 960 euros, which consist of three fully equipped emergency backpacks. This donation relates to initial medical care, especially on smaller DLRG emergency boats, which are often used in rescue operations.
The need for better equipment became clear during an emergency response in August 2024 when a 45-year-old stand-up paddler went missing. The rescue workers searched from the Schwinge to the Schwingetal. Fortunately, the missing person was finally found with the DLRG's smallest motor rescue boat, the “Pass Op”. The person was hypothermic and far from the usual paddling distance, but was able to be taken over responsively. After initial treatment on the boat and handover to the emergency services, the man recovered in hospital within two days.
Valuable support for volunteer rescuers
The standard equipment on smaller DLRG boats was assessed as not optimal, as larger lifeboats have more extensive medical equipment. "The extended emergency backpacks close an important gap. It is essential to be well equipped even on smaller boats in order to be able to help quickly and effectively," explains Christian Schaarschmidt from DLRG Stade. André Hincke from Banking-Partner emphasizes how important the DLRG's voluntary work is for the region. Your indispensable help saves hundreds of people every year from potentially life-threatening situations in Germany.
The DLRG relies on donations in order to be able to continue its important projects despite the volunteer basis. The funds will not only be used for special equipment such as the new emergency backpacks, but also for boats and training for rescuers. You can support the DLRG through sponsorships or targeted fundraising campaigns, among other things. Especially at Christmas, there are often special donation opportunities to further support the valuable work of the rescue organization, as can be found on the DLRG website.
The donation handover is proof that the commitment of social actors such as banking partners can make a big difference. In times when not only recreational activities but also water safety are essential, it becomes clear how important such initiatives are to protect human lives.
