FCS loses to Aachen again: 0-2 defeat and promotion goals goodbye!

In the duel between the 1. FC Saarbrücken and Alemannia Aachen there were painful points to be awarded on Sunday, November 3rd, 2025. The afternoon turned out to be anything but pleasant for the FCS, as the hosts lost 0-2, which meant the third defeat in a row for the team. This means that the dream of promotion places becomes a long way off.

Already in the 2nd minute, Lars Gindorf caused a bitter setback for the Saarlanders when he made it 1-0 after a cross pass from Emmanuel Elekwa. The FCS found it difficult to get into the game and had to see Rodney Elongo-Yombo denied by the brilliant Aachen keeper Jan Olschowsky in the 8th minute. In the 14th minute, Abdoulaye Kamara had the chance to equalize, but his goal was disallowed for offside.

A lot of pressure without consequences

The first half showed that Saarbrücken tried hard, but hardly posed any danger. There was a contentious moment in the 20th minute when Kamara was fouled in the penalty area - but referee Timon Schulz did not award a penalty. Three minutes before halftime, Gindorf scored a brace and sent the players into the break with a 2-0 lead. The Aachen defense presented itself as a solid bulwark in the first half, while Saarbrücken struggled to build up the game.

After halftime, the FCS tried to turn things around, but were unable to create any significant scoring opportunities. The Aachen team defended deeply and hardly let anything go wrong. In the last minutes of the game, Kamara also softened with a yellow-red card that finally took the wind out of the hosts' sails. Aachen was unimpressed and was closer to making it 3-0 than Saarbrücken was to a goal.

Interim coach brings change

For Alemannia Aachen it was the second victory under interim coach Ilyas Trenz, who was obviously able to stabilize his team relationships quickly. With this victory, the Aachen team freed themselves from the relegation zone and sent a strong signal. Gindorf was the real hero of the game, he did an excellent job and secured his team the important three points. Five minutes of stoppage time did the rest to round off the game, with Saarbrücken not even beginning to react to the deficit.

The FCS now has three defeats and three draws in the league and occupies a place in the middle of the table. The next match day brings another challenge, as they face Havelse next Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. It remains to be seen whether Saarbrücken can turn things around there.
