Cult pizzeria Pizzazeit” in Bochum: Toni is celebrating a fantastic comeback!

After a four-year break, the Bochum cult restaurant “Pizzazeit” will celebrate its reopening on the waterway on September 22, 2025. Korosh “Toni” Nejati, the creative mind behind the pizzeria, is returning to a place that means a lot to him. Before his break, he was already known as the operator of the Pizzeria Tonio. Toni is surprised that many of his old customers have found their way back to him, which makes his decision to revitalize the restaurant particularly pleasing. Toni says about his return: “I feel like working again and feel calmer and more mature after my trip through Germany with my Harley.”

The revival of “Pizzazeit” should be approached carefully. Toni places particular emphasis on the preparation of his pizza dough and the use of fresh ingredients that shape the taste experience. He is supported by former colleagues who are at his side as he restarts. Now, with no days off, the pizzeria is open daily and offers visitors the opportunity to sample their way through a menu full of specialties such as pizza, pizza rolls, salads and baguettes. A selection of pasta dishes could even follow later, which would enrich the offerings even further.

Culinary diversity in Bochum

Bochum has established itself as a center of Italian hospitality in recent years. In addition to “Pizza Time”, lovers of Italian cuisine can also indulge themselves at Ristorante Carmelo. This family-run restaurant has existed since 1981 and offers a large selection of Italian and Sicilian specialties. The use of fresh ingredients and a selection of high-quality wines complete the gastronomic experience. A visit to the planetarium or after a game at the Vonovia Stadium can be ideally combined with a meal at Carmelo, making the restaurant a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Even after an event at the RuhrCongress, the restaurant is an excellent option to end the evening comfortably. Carmelo is within walking distance of several of the city's cultural and sporting highlights.

The gastronomy scene in Bochum not only impresses with “Pizzazeit” and Carmelo, but also with several other Italian restaurants that are characterized by authenticity and a warm atmosphere. From Trattoria Momo to Osteria al Vecchio Torchio – the selection is large and varied. Here are some of the best Italian restaurants in Bochum:
