New flights from Cologne/Bonn to Marsa Alam: Egypt is calling the holidaymakers!
From October 27, 2025, travelers can look forward to exciting news at Cologne/Bonn Airport: The airline Eurowings is launching a direct connection to Marsa Alam, one of Egypt's secret holiday paradises. This new route will be launched as part of the 2025/26 winter flight schedule and will primarily appeal to sun worshipers, divers and snorkeling fans.
Marsa Alam, just 270 kilometers south of Hurghada, impresses with its beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, ideal for underwater adventures. “The region has developed into an insider tip,” as 24rhein reports. Divers and snorkelers in particular appreciate the intact coral reefs, which boast a high level of biodiversity. The El Naaba lagoon also attracts kite surfers, while the Wadi el-Gemal National Park with its desert landscapes and seagrass meadows is another highlight for nature lovers.
Flight operations and other destinations
Flights to Marsa Alam will operate four times a week, although exact flight times and frequencies are yet to be determined. This new connection is part of the continuous expansion of Eurowings' offering at Cologne/Bonn Airport. “The airline is responding to the increasing demand for long-distance travel in the winter months,” adds n-ag.de.
In addition to Egypt, Eurowings will continue to fly regularly to popular travel destinations such as Mallorca, Antalya and Istanbul. Additionally, flights to Dubai, Erbil in Iraq and Fes in Morocco are included in the new winter flight schedule, giving travelers even more choice.
A paradise for water sports enthusiasts
Marsa Alam is not just an El Dorado for sun worshipers; the region has also made a name for itself as a mecca for water sports enthusiasts. The colorful underwater world, which includes sea turtles and dugongs, attracts snorkelers from far and wide. Aquatic adventures are the order of the day here, and new direct flights make access to this natural paradise even easier.
Whether relaxing on the beach or discovering the vibrant underwater world, travelers can look forward to new adventures in one of the most beautiful parts of Egypt. This means that the people of Cologne and Bonn have many options to escape the gray winter and enjoy the sun!
