Borken Singers' Association celebrates 100 years with a rousing coffee house concert!

On September 19, 2025, a very special anniversary was celebrated at the Vennehof in Borken: TheSingers' Association 1925 Borkencelebrated its 100th anniversary. To mark this milestone, a popular concert tradition was revived, putting visitors in a nostalgic mood.

As part of the anniversary there was a...Coffee house concerttook place, in which the large hall of the Vennehof was converted into a cozy coffee house. The male voices of the choir entertained the audience with well-known pieces by greats such asUdo LindenbergandMarius Müller-Westernhagen. The musical accompaniment was provided by talented musicians such asStephan Lemanskiat the piano,Angela Hoveson the transverse flute,Bernhard Blickerwith the guitar andGereon Hollsteggeon the Cajon.

An unforgettable evening

The moderation was in the hands of the chairman of the singers' association,Hans Zaksek, which actively involved the audience and encouraged them to sing along. Popular classics like...“Koffietied”and“Over seven bridges”, which led to an exuberant atmosphere in the hall. After around an hour of program and great applause, there was even an encore, which rounded off the evening perfectly. This event not only showcased the choir's rich history, but also highlighted how important music is in social life.

But the singers' association has even more up its sleeve: it will take place in the Vennehof town hall on January 11, 202630th Borken New Year's Concertinstead, accompanied byBorken wind orchestra, which is already increasing the anticipation. Further concerts in the Borken area are also planned, such as the choir's performanceNice 2 Hear e.V.with the concert“VIVA La VIDA”on September 28, 2025, which has pop and film music in the program.
