Dortmund celebrates the Hanseatic Market: historical experiences and new openings!

Today, November 1st, 2025, Dortmund is transformed into a lively center of the Middle Ages: The 29th Hanseatic Market has opened its doors and delights visitors with historical experiences. From October 29th to November 2nd, visitors can stroll through the city center and be carried away by a colorful program. The highlight of the market, which will revive the spirit of bygone times, will take place on Sunday, November 2nd. This special day runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and promises a large crowd in the shops, which will be closed on November 1st, due to the All Saints Day holiday.

The city center comes to life with a variety of activities and offerings. Craftsmen demonstrate old techniques, while little visitors can test their skills at the children's blacksmith shop. There is also a nostalgic fair on the Old Market, which ensures that young and old alike get their money's worth. The free stage program at Reinoldikirchplatz is brought to life by, among others, the “Rittergruppe Fictum”, the “Juggler Bagatelli” and the “Arcus” ensemble. The Hansemarkt's opening hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A feast for all senses

The Slow Festival runs parallel to the Hanseatic Market and provides relaxed sounds and a cozy atmosphere on November 1st and 2nd. There are several new openings in the Thier Gallery: Stradivarius, Bershka and Pull & Bear ensure that fashion-conscious buyers get their money's worth. Perfect weather for a shopping spree is guaranteed, but you should prepare for a certain rush on Sunday, as all signs point to a large rush.

It should also be noted that shops will be closed due to the public holiday on November 1st. Therefore, Sunday shopping is the last opportunity before the next big event: the Dortmund Christmas market, which will also have Sunday shopping on December 7, 2025. So if you still want to get presents, November 2nd is the perfect opportunity to do so.

The organizers, the Gesellschaft für City-Marketing Dortmund (CMG) and the Schöne Markt agency, have created a celebration with the Hanseatic Market that combines tradition and enjoyment in a wonderful way. A visit is definitely worth it to immerse yourself in the historical world and enjoy city life.

Further information about the design of business processes or the application for credit cards for companies is important in another context, for example at Bank of America, which provides clear requirements for this. Regardless of this, the focus remains on the Hanseatic Market, as the experiences on offer there are a very special highlight in Dortmund.

It will be exciting to see what the next few days will bring - one thing is certain: there is something happening in the heart of the city!
