Meti Festival: Thrash Metal and Punk Rock at Flinger Broich!
There will soon be a very special event in Düsseldorf: The Meti Festival will take place at Flinger Broich 3 am Schützenhaus. On Friday, August 15th and Saturday, August 16th, a total of 14 bands will present a varied mix of thrash metal, punk rock and ska punk. The proceeds from this festival benefit the association “Inclusion must be loud,” which works to improve accessibility to cultural events for people with disabilities, such as rp-online.de reported.
The start on Friday will feature a number of promising bands such as Old Virus, Catbreath and Fight Against Monuments, before the stage is taken over by Rawside until 10 p.m. On Saturday, which is already completely sold out, a colorful range of artists will perform from 12.30 p.m.: The Düsseldorf bands Flügge, Dead Dates and Sinnfrei are just a few of the acts that will delight the audience, including the headliner Skassapunka from Italy.
Accessibility and inclusion
The Meti Festival places a clear emphasis on inclusion and accessibility. “Inclusion Must Be Loud” is deeply committed to giving people with disabilities access to concerts and festivals. The BUDDIE companion network offers individual support for fans with a “B” on their severely disabled ID. Support offers and information about barrier-free clubs and festivals have been collected since 2009 - an important commitment that is increasingly proving its worth i-m-l-s.com explained.
But accessibility is not only the focus of the festival. Various initiatives and projects deal with the topic of barrier-free celebrations. The planning of barrier-free events has been discussed in event management courses, for example at the TU Gießen, since 2023, although often only from a structural perspective miz.org determines.
A look into the future
The events industry is increasingly confronted with the need to consider accessibility as part of sustainability and diversity. Even if there is no legal obligation for accessibility in the private sector, there are numerous efforts to enable celebrations without discrimination. Complaints about access to events can be lodged with the anti-discrimination agency, which shows that the rights of people with disabilities are also becoming more and more important in the cultural sector.
Ticket sales for Friday are still ongoing, and it remains exciting to see what musical highlights and positive experiences the Meti Festival has in store. If you would like to find out more about the event and the participating bands, you can find all the information on the website meti-festival.de.
