A whole village is celebrating: SC Zurstraße 70 recently celebrated its 55th anniversary. A four-day festival took place from June 22nd to 25th, which began with a hobby tournament on Thursday and continued with a senior tournament on Friday. Many long-standing members and 130 invited guests honored themselves on Sunday in the event building on Waldbauerstrasse. A lively ceremony created a great bond and brought to life the memories of the association's founding in 1970, as lokaldirekt.de reports.
The celebration was moderated by Joachim Augner, who praised the club not only as a sporting location, but also as a social glue for the village community. Jens Richstein, the first chairman, spoke proudly about the family atmosphere and the cohesion in the club. Mayor André Dahlhaus looked back on the development of the sports facilities, from humble beginnings on a field to the modern artificial turf field that is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2024.
Warm honors and awards
In addition to the ceremony, there was also a special honor for SC Zurstraße 70. As part of the sports honors format #ENGAGEMENTvereintEN, the club received one of five equal prizes. The exemplary work in inclusive and age-appropriate sport was recognized with prize money of 500 euros and a digital winner's logo, reports breckerfeld-gefaellt.de. Particularly noteworthy is the new “Walking Football” offering, which enables older people and people with physical limitations to take part in football.
Deputy District Administrator Jörg Obereiner presented the award and emphasized how important social club life is for maintaining membership loyalty. Walking football doesn't just promote exercise; The project also contributes to integration and social coexistence, a topic that has gained great importance in recent years. Celebration mood and anecdotes
After the official part of the celebrations, a delicious meal was served together: schnitzel, potato salad and cake continued to raise the mood. The greetings were also accompanied by warm congratulations from other Breckerfeld clubs and organizations, which once again underlined the importance of SC Zurstraße 70 in regional club life.
During the ceremony, more than just thoughts about the past were shared. Jens Richstein honored Olaf Kampmann for his decades of commitment to the club and made him an honorary board member. And so the evening ended with anecdotes and conversations among friends and companions - a nice end to a successful anniversary that celebrated not only the sporting successes, but also the community and cohesion.
