Rot-Weiss Essen has set itself the goal of successfully mastering the coming season and has drawn up a comprehensive preparation plan for this. An internal performance diagnostics took place on June 23rd and 24th, during which Uwe Koschinat's protégés had their fitness checked in order to be optimally prepared for the challenges ahead. The first public training session started on June 25th at 3:30 p.m. at the stadium on Hafenstrasse - an important date for fans and players alike who wanted to see each other again.
Opportunities to strengthen the team and match practice
A total of five test games are scheduled to give the tubes a solid basis for the start of the league: On June 28th, the team played against VfB Bottrop, followed by a duel against VfB Frohnhausen in the Am Hallo sports park on July 1st. These encounters against lower-class teams are intended to help improve fitness and tactical understanding and promote team spirit, as the experts at Zone14 also emphasize.
In particular, the test match against Hibernian FC in Edinburgh, which will take place on July 9th at 8 p.m. (German time), promises to be a highlight. The upcoming 2025/26 season of the 3rd league begins for RWE from August 1st to 3rd. The second matchday has also already been decided - it will take place between August 8th and 10th. Another exciting highlight will be the home game in the first round of the DFB Cup against Borussia Dortmund, which kicks off on August 18th at 8:45 p.m.
The preparation was complemented by modern tools such as video analysis, which, as the experts at Zone14 explain, support a smart transition into the season. The focus is not only on physical fitness, but also on nutrition, regeneration and, above all, the fun of the game.
With this preparatory timetable, Rot-Weiss Essen is doing everything it can to start the new season well prepared and to delight the fans with convincing performances. While the anticipation of the new challenges grows, it remains to be seen what potential the team can develop this season.
