Hollandmarkt 2025: Delicacies and music back in NRW!

The Holland market is back in North Rhine-Westphalia and will offer several opportunities to discover and enjoy Dutch delicacies in October 2025. The popular markets, which have a long tradition in the region and began in Emsdetten in 1990, are continuing their tour through North Rhine-Westphalia after taking a well-deserved summer break in recent months. Ruhr24 reports that a cheerful atmosphere and culinary delights await visitors.

The market opened its doors in Gelsenkirchen in the first week of October. On October 5th, visitors could enjoy Gouda specialties, kibbeling, matjes, poffertjes and honey waffles between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Those who were there were able to enjoy the atmosphere and be inspired by the large selection of Dutch delicacies.

Dates and locations

The remaining market days have also been determined. On October 12th, Datteln will be the venue for this special event. It's not just the culinary variety that puts you in a good mood, but also a brass band that provides musical accompaniment. After Datteln, the Holland market follows on October 19th in Haren (Ems) and finally on October 26th in Hamm. In Hamm, guests can look forward to over 35 vendors who, in addition to typical Dutch specialties, also offer Dutch melodies with a live brass band. Westphalia News emphasizes that the Holland market is a real experience for the whole family and, in addition to the delicacies, also offers cultural exchange.

A stop worth mentioning at the Holland market is Lengerich in Münsterland, where a market will also take place on May 18, 2025. This Sunday, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy refreshing fries, frikandel and freshly made poffertjes. Around 30 to 32 stands will be set up here, with one highlight: the organizers Yvonne and Henk, who will bring with them a range of around 150 types of confectionery and licorice.

Tradition and future

The tradition of the Dutch market goes back a long way. The first event took place under adverse weather conditions and only eleven dealers took part. Today, the team around Yvonne and Henk operates in 28 German cities and has long since developed into an established institution in the weekly market business. Tonight reports that the events will tour throughout Germany and the next break will not take place until after December 1, 2025.

The Dutch market's fan base is constantly growing, and visitors can look forward to a colorful range of offerings: cheese, flowers, both food and non-food products, as well as authentic specialties from the Netherlands. A visit is worth it because this is where the heart beats for culinary enjoyment and conviviality.
