A very special anniversary is being celebrated in the heart of Hamm this year: 50 years of summer holiday fun! Lip wave reports that the spectacle is designed for children and young people aged 6 to 16 and will start with a lot of enthusiasm on the last day of school, July 11, 2025. At a presentation of the program, moderated by Mayor Marc Herter and holiday fun coordinator Heidrun Corzilius-Altena, the colorful offer was presented, which consists of excursions, workshops and creative activities.
What can the young participants expect? The list is long and varied. From exciting excursions to Phantasialand and the Maxipark to creative workshops such as painting bags and making jam - everyone gets their money's worth here. A highlight will be the “School’s Out Party” in the FunPark Bockum-Hövel, which marks the end of the anniversary celebrations.
A program for every interest
Annual holiday fun has evolved in recent years. While it initially only took place during the summer holidays, since 2019 the organizers have also been offering various activities during the Easter and autumn holidays. At hamm.de All offerings are listed as of Saturday, June 28, 2025, and registration for most programs opens on Monday, June 30. Registration is still required directly with the respective organizer; the coordination office of the Youth Welfare Office does not accept registrations.
The good weather, the sun and the cheerful atmosphere promise a great time. The sporting offerings such as water skiing or skateboarding are just as attractive as creative workshops or culinary activities. A “Radio Kurux Rally” is also planned for the little adventurers in the cube on Südstrasse – that will definitely be fun!

In addition to the great holiday fun, children and young people can also join in Youth organization AWO look forward to exciting holiday activities. These not only include great trips within Germany, but also experiences in various European countries. The focus here is on experiences, community and safety, and participants are accompanied by qualified supervisors. The holiday camps are designed to take children's interests into account and place great emphasis on sustainability.
