Pro Hamm reveals ambitious election program for Pelkum 2025!

Something is happening in Pelkum: The Pro Hamm voter group has presented its election program for the upcoming local elections in summer 2025. Under the top candidate Farid Bhihi, an experienced member of the district council since 2014, the focus is on preserving the special character of Pelkum and strengthening the community. “We want safe streets, well-kept squares and strong neighborhoods,” emphasizes Bhihi. With a detailed future plan, the Pro Hamm candidates are aiming for sustainable development by 2030. The focus ranges from proximity to the citizens in the subsequent use of the Heinrich Robert area to the expansion of the educational location to investments in the leisure opportunities of the citizens.

Among other things, the modernization of the Selbachpark outdoor pool and the upgrade of the Titania Youth Park are on the agenda. Friedrich-Ebert-Park should also become more attractive, for example with new barbecue areas. Improvements to local supplies and the expansion of the cycle path network are planned for the districts of Lohauserholz and Weetfeld, and they also want to protect arable land and natural zones. Medical care in underserved neighborhoods should also be improved by setting up care centers.

Diversity of candidates in Pelkum

But not only Pro Hamm has put forward its candidates. The CDU Pelkum is also well positioned for the local elections. The candidates for the various electoral districts were chosen in a meeting. The list is headed by Birgit Borgmann (51), who has been a member of the council since 2009 and particularly wants to work on health and care issues. The young police officer Stefan Wünnemann (37) is running for the Wiescherhöfen constituency for the first time and would like to represent the interests of athletes. Dietrich Wünnemann (64) will also run for electoral district 16, who is committed to providing housing for young families and wants to implement the climate action plan. Also new on the list is Rafet Baslarli, who wants to work for social cohesion in Pelkum.

Particularly noteworthy is the CDU's commitment to the B63n transport project, where implementation plans are to be pushed forward. A clear sign that the CDU in Pelkum is striving for an active role in municipal development.

Greens with a breath of fresh air

The opposition forces are being strengthened by the Greens, who have also presented their list of candidates for Pelkum. Ulrich Schölermann will top the list, followed by Marco Safar, Josef Thiemeier and Ulrich Baumert. With a clear focus on climate, environmental and social policy, the Greens are focusing on sustainable solutions and hope to be able to build on their previous successes. They are optimistic that their offer will be well received by voters.

So the preparations in Pelkum are in full swing. With three different lists, it will be exciting to see who will win the favor of voters in the local elections in summer 2025 and which topics will be decisive. Either way: the Pelkum district will be at the heart of the municipal debate in the coming months.
