Premiere in the Moon Palace: Barefoot or patent leather shoes? An evening full of laughs!
Today, August 16, 2025, there is great anticipation in the Mondpalast in Herne, as theater director Marvin Boettcher opens the eagerly awaited guest performance series with the comedy “Barefoot or Patent Shoe” by Horst Freckmann. In contrast to the highly subsidized city and state theaters, this private theater played through the summer holidays and thus provides a breath of fresh air on the stage landscape.
With the current comedy by Freckmann, which will soon be presented in a homage to the 20th anniversary of Harald Juhnke's death, the Mondpalast promises a special theater experience. Resident author Sigi Domke has already impressed audiences with his comedy “Ruhrpott-Express”, which ensured sold-out performances.
Double dernieres and special dates
On August 17, 2025, spectators can look forward to a double series, but only a few single tickets are available. If you haven't been lucky enough to get tickets yet, you should hurry up. The upcoming highlights also include the revival of the cult comedy “Mrs Piesewotzki, Libuda and I – Football, Sex and Other Catastrophes”, which will be performed from August 22nd to 24th, 2025:
- Freitag, 22. August 2025, um 20 Uhr
- Samstag, 23. August 2025, um 20 Uhr
- Sonntag, 24. August 2025, um 17 Uhr
A prelude to the autumn program is the Ruhr area musical “Das Ruhrical”, which will be on stage from September 5th to 7th, 2025. A special guest is also Rüdiger Hoffmann, who awaits his audience on September 18, 2025, followed by Wolfgang Stapelr (December 4, 2025), Doc Esser (November 20, 2025) and the Insta-Impro stars “Gude Leude” (November 27, 2025).
The special homage
Horst Freckmann's homage “Barefoot or Patent Shoe” will celebrate its premiere on September 9, 2025 at 8 p.m. This production not only offers anecdotes and sketches, but also revives Harald Juhnke's best-known hits. Freckmann recently explained his personal connection to Juhnke and how much his work inspired him.
Tickets are available at the theater box office, online or by telephone. For all theater lovers and those looking for good entertainment, the Moon Palace is the place to go. These performances are characterized by passion and dedication, which make the theater a special meeting place.
