Here, art lovers and the curious can auction more than 150 works by talented regional and international artists. The preview of the works of art begins at 11 a.m. before the actual auction starts at 6 p.m. The event is organized by the Recklinghausen Art Association, the Vestischen Künstlerbund and the Fine Arts Support Association, which are committed to supporting both artists and the local art scene. Half of the proceeds are distributed between the artists and the participating clubs.

The auction is led by Dr. Nico Anklam, the director of the art gallery, and Mareike Donath, the chairwoman of the art association.
