Big event weekend in Sauerland: concerts, exhibitions and more!
On the first of October 2025, Hochsauerland will once again captivate visitors with a colorful range of events and activities. From concerts to exciting exhibitions – people here experience a variety of leisure activities.
Exciting events are on the program in Meschede, Eslohe, Bestwig and Schmallenberg. A highlight is the appearance of Bernd Stelter, who will be presenting his program “Don’t get upset. Only gives wrinkles!” on Friday, October 3rd at 7 p.m. will be presented in the Willingen visitor center. Concert and Brass Festival
Another musical highlight awaits all music lovers on Sunday, October 5th. The Music Factory Sauerland invites you to its “Little Film Heroes” concert in the Bürgersaal of the town hall in Bestwig. It starts at 4 p.m. and entry is free - a real insider tip for families and friends of youth music. For further information, those interested can visit the Music Factory Sauerland website.
In addition, the International Brass Festival “Sauerland-Herbst” is just around the corner. The opening event will take place on the same day in the Sauerland-Theater Arnsberg, with the Ensemble Salaputia Brass at 7.30 p.m. In this festival, which lasts until October 30th, numerous concerts are planned in Arnsberg, Brilon and Schmallenberg, including performances by the Brass Band Schoonhoven. Tickets are available from 27 euros.
Family friendly events
On Friday, October 3rd, the “Open Doors with the Mouse” action day will also take place in the Sauerland Museum in Arnsberg. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., children and adults are invited to make the astonishing discoveries. While children have free entry, adults pay 8 euros. No less exciting is the exhibition “Where I am not” by Monika Salmanyan, which runs until October 12th in the “kunsthaus alte mühle” in Schmallenberg. Opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and entry is free. There is also the option of a public tour on Sunday, October 5th at 3 p.m., but registration is required.
