Hachen Primary School wins the 2025 Forest Youth Games!
On November 5th, 2025, the Hochsauerlandkreis region will celebrate good news: the Hachen elementary school has won the 2025 Forest Youth Games! This event, which took place on September 19th in Obereimer, gave the school's fourth graders the opportunity to experience the forest in a very special way. Under the motto “Learning by playing in the countryside”, the children were able to demonstrate their skills at various stations.
In the forest youth games, the participants had to solve numerous tasks. This included recognizing trees and animals, mastering small games and solving puzzles. These activities not only combined knowledge about nature with exercise, but also strengthened the children's team spirit. The focus was on learning in the context of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The students not only learned about the importance of environmental protection, but also dealt with issues that affect our future in a playful way.
Thanks to the team at Wald und Holz NRW
The organizers of the Forest Youth Games, especially the team from the NRW State Office for Forestry and Wood, deserve the highest respect for the preparation and support of the event. Thanks to their support, the children were able to gain new impressions and get to know the forest in a completely new way. This experience will certainly remain in the memory of the participants for a long time.
In addition to the exciting competitions, the Forest Youth Games also supported the “School of the Future” concept. It is hoped that the children will be inspired to continue to actively engage with the environment and to get involved in protecting nature.
The Forest Youth Games are more than just a competition - they are an important platform to teach children the importance of teamwork and collaboration in the context of environmental issues. The Hachen primary school has once again proven that it has a good knack for sensitizing young people to the issue of environmental protection.
At a time when environmental awareness and sustainability are increasingly coming to the fore, such events can help children learn to appreciate nature and actively address the challenges that lie ahead. A warm “Well done!” to Hachen Elementary School for this great success and valuable learning experience!
