TheKlever Children's Festivalin the impressive Kleve Zoo on June 15th was a real highlight for families from Kleve, the surrounding communities and even from the Netherlands. In wonderful weather, the young visitors were able to enjoy numerous play and craft opportunities between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thanks to the support of around 150 volunteers, the festival was a complete success, which put smiles on the children's faces.

A very special thank you goes to thatRotary Club Kleve, who made a significant contribution to financing the children's festival with a generous donation of 2,000 euros. Katharina Prinz, the club's president, ceremoniously presented the check to the mayorWolfgang Gebing. The latter praised the committed cooperation and the important role that the Rotary Club plays in the community. This year the festival took place in the Tiergarten for the fifth time, and the city of Kleve actively took over the organization and financing, and can look back on the successful tradition since 1979.

A celebration full of possibilities

The Kleve Zoo offered an exciting program with a variety of activities that invited people to play, do crafts and move around. In addition, entry was free for all visitors, which attracted a particularly large number of families. In order to cope with the rush of visitors, several parking options were available, for example at the Tiergarten, Forstgarten, Hagebaumarkt as well as in Kaufland and at the comprehensive school at Forstgarten. However, it was pointed out that only designated parking spaces should be used, as parking in green areas and along Tiergartenstrasse was not permitted.

The organizers also had a helpful tip for all guests: traveling by public transport or bicycle was recommended to avoid long waiting times in the entrance area. The zoo is also regularly open until 6 p.m., which gave visitors additional time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Anyone interested in learning more about the role of Rotarians in the community is encouraged to visit the site Rotary Elementary Education. The Rotary Club's commitment to the education and well-being of children is just one example of the valuable work being done in the region.
