He spent his youth holidays taking his first steps in the game with the clubs Schweinfurt 05 and Ingolstadt before moving to the youth academy of 1. FC Köln in 2020.
A promising career
His rise in professional football is impressive: on September 28, 2020, he joined the FC youth academy and made his debut in the first team on September 23, 2023. Downs played a key role in securing FC Köln's promotion from the 2nd Bundesliga last season with 11 goals and 6 assists. His achievements do not go unnoticed on the international stage: In May 2025, he was named to the US national team squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2025, making him a long-term decision for the USA.
