Torben Klein brings the hits back to Jülich with Homesick for Cologne”!

Something is happening in Cologne, the heart of the city beats for music. The release of the album “Homesick for Cologne” by Torben Klein marks the start of a musical journey through time in honor of Cologne veteran Willi Ostermann. In a sold-out release revue in Cologne, Klein presented 14 newly arranged hits by the master, which are still very popular despite his death over 100 years ago.

The atmosphere in the Cologne venue was unique as guests immersed themselves in the world of Ostermann, whose songs embody the Cologne feeling. The show not only offers listeners catchy tunes, but also deep insights into the composer's life story. Songs such as “Einmal am Rhein”, “Heimweh nach Köln” and “Villa Billa” in particular created an exuberant atmosphere and a feeling of connection.

A highlight of the show

Torben Klein lights up the stage with his duet partner “Domhätzje Nadine”. Together they interpret the classic “Kölsche Mädcher künne bütze” and invite the audience to sing along, sway and swing. This connection between past and present gives the revue a special touch that not only touches the audience emotionally, but also celebrates the traditions of Cologne music.

After the grandiose premiere in Cologne, Klein continues on tour. On September 12th, the “Willi Ostermann Revue” will stop at the Kulturbahnhof Jülich. Admission begins at 6:30 p.m., while the curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the event cost 22 euros plus advance booking fees and can be purchased online or directly at the KuBa kiosk.

Cologne and the love of music

It is impressive how Ostermann's songs still connect a city and its people today. With the album “Homesick for Cologne”, Torben Klein shows that the roots of Cologne music are deeply anchored and also have their place in the modern world. The event is a reminder that love for home and its sounds is timeless.

Cologne can look forward to a rousing tour that not only offers a look back, but also a glimpse of the future of Cologne music.
