In May of this year, Wirtz had already signed a contract with Liverpool until at least 2030, which guaranteed him an annual salary of between 20 and 22 million euros - including bonuses.

Family matters

An exciting aspect of this transfer is the role of Wirtz's parents, Hans and Karin, who not only act as consultants but also receive a commission of 10% of their son's salary. This could bring in around 10 million euros for them over the next five years. It is also interesting that Liverpool did without an external negotiator in this matter and negotiated directly with Wirtz's family.
