Zartmann and Ikkimel triumph: Double 1Live crowns for the stars!
The German music scene celebrated its big moment: the coveted 1Live crowns were recently awarded in Bielefeld, and the winners beamed across the stage. Radio Leverkusen reports that the singer Zartmann won two awards: He was named “Best Artist” of last year and celebrated his success with the song “Tau mich auf”, which won the title “Song of the Year”. Last year he shared the award with rapper Ski Aggu.
Another highlight of the evening was the double award for rapper Ikkimel. She was named “Best Newcomer” and was also able to share the crown for “Best Party Song” with Filow for his hit “Jiggy”. Ad Hoc News makes it clear that a total of over 50 artists, bands and songs were nominated in nine categories and the voting lasted four weeks.
A festival of talents
The event, described by presenter Aminata Belli as “a little break from reality,” boasted fantastic performances from many artists. Nina Chuba was named “Best Artist,” winning her fourth crown. Nico Santos also received an award in the new “Best Pop Act” category, marking his second crown.
The indie pop band Provinz won in the “Best Alternative Song” category for their song “Walzer”, while party rapper Finch was celebrated as “Best Live Act”. Ski Aggu set a record with his sixth win for best hip-hop song with “Palermo,” having nabbed all six nominations for the award.
Prices with message
Particularly noteworthy was the special 1Live Crown prize, which was awarded to the filmmakers of the Netflix documentary about the rapper arrest warrant, Juan Moreno and Sinan Sevinc. This was seen as a reflection of their importance for social debates. The Kurdish-German Tiktoker and author Tahsim Durgun was also honored in the “Best Entertainment” category, where he critically addressed Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statements about the “cityscape” and called for more understanding for people with a migration background.
The 1Live Krone is considered Germany's biggest music prize, and the event evening impressively demonstrated how diverse and lively the German music scene is. With many performances from artists such as WiztheMC, Berq, Paula Hartmann, Kraftklub, Marteria and Tokio Hotel, there was something for everyone. The atmosphere was great and the response from the young audience shows that the music has a unifying power.
