Radar strip in the Märkisches Kreis: speed offenders caught on October 6th!

Today, on October 6, 2025, the Märkischer Kreis police authority is publishing the results of its speed monitoring in Menden. The measurements took place at two different locations and showed both typical traffic offenses and some encouraging insights.

The first measuring point was in Menden-Lendringsen am Paschesiepen, where radar monitoring was active from 7:10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. A total of 57 vehicles were recorded here. The warning fine amounted to 14 cases and an administrative offense was reported. The highest value measured was 54 km/h, which is not exactly a role model for traffic safety in the urban area. Fortunately, a driving ban was not imposed; all vehicle types belonged to the passenger car category. Further details can be found on the website Digital Daily read up.

The second measuring point on Provincial Road was in operation from 9:05 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 669 vehicles have already been recorded here and there have been 18 warning fines. As in the first measurement, only one case was documented that led to an administrative offense being reported. The peak value here was even 70 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, which is a clear sign of the need for further controls. No driving bans were issued in this area either.

A look into the past

These current figures should not be viewed in isolation. The police carried out similar speed measurements on June 18, 2025, which also showed that many road users ignored the speed limits. During the measurements on Schwitter Weg, for example, which took place from 11:40 a.m. to 12:05 p.m., 35 vehicles were recorded, 7 of which were in the warning fine area and 1 of which was reported as an administrative offense. The highest value here was 50 km/h in a zone with a maximum speed of 30 km/h, which shows that standard speed driving is not always taken seriously, even in urban areas.

As many as 656 vehicles were recorded on Wilhelmstrasse from 12:15 p.m. to 3:05 p.m. Here the warning fine range was 50 cases and 2 administrative offense reports. A maximum speed of 60 km/h in a 30 km/h zone for motorcycles is also an indication that the message of road safety has not yet reached everyone. Hermann-Löns-Straße confirmed this picture with similar violations.

A call to mindfulness

The current results underline how important speed controls are for road safety. Every individual is required to have a good hand in traffic.
