World University Games 2025: A celebration of sport and sustainability in NRW!

Today things are really getting down to business in the Rhine-Ruhr region! The World University Games 2025 have officially started, and in wonderful weather. From July 16 to 27, 2025, over 9,000 sports-loving students from more than 150 countries will compete to give their best in 18 different sports. The competitions take place in five districts: Bochum, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr, as part of an impressive series of events.
