Traffic jam on the A1: Big clean-up operation after an accident involving five cars!

Today, June 13, 2025, a traffic accident on the A1 motorway is causing a massive traffic jam. An incident occurred between Ascheberg and Hiltrup in which five cars were damaged after driving over lost items. Traffic is being directed past the accident vehicles and clearing the scene of the accident is expected to take around an hour, which is a test for drivers' patience. As WDR reports, the path towards Münster is almost blocked.

But it's not just traffic chaos that's an issue today. The city of Münster remains part of the Future Mobility Network NRW after signing a new framework agreement. The aim of this initiative is the sustainable development of mobility in North Rhine-Westphalia. This gives reason to hope that the roads will soon be easier to drive not only in traffic jams, but also for other journeys, as Antenne Münster reports.

Culinary offerings and cultural events

The culinary delights are also well catered for: the culinary event “Münster pampers” takes place from June 13th to 15th and offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy regional delicacies at 18 stands. For art lovers and night owls, there is a “Long Friday” at the LWL Museum of Art and Culture with a dance program, which is also taking place today.

The weekend promises to be extremely varied with over 35 events at the Münsterland Picnic Days. Here you can look forward to a DJ picnic and even a goat hike. This is exactly what you need to treat yourself to a little break in the ever-fast-paced everyday life.

Worrying trends

State of North Rhine-Westphalia determines.

In further news, the main customs office in Münster reported tax revenues of 2.3 billion euros - an indication that the economic situation in the region remains stable. In addition, the Titanick Theater will have to fight for survival as city funding is set to expire.

Otherwise there are some positive changes coming up: There is a new addition to the Uni Baskets, Neil Mašnić is moving from the Paderborn Baskets to Münster. Today, students also took the opportunity to simulate a plenary session in the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament in order to gain a small insight into political processes.

The coming days in Münster promise a lot: from culinary highlights to cultural events to urgent discussions about social challenges. There is something for everyone here and the city shows once again that it is a creative and lively place.
