The shooting festival in Frielingsdorf reached its climax last Sunday with the ceremonial coronation ceremony of the new majesties. Organized by the St. Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft, this traditional event attracts many visitors every year and is considered one of the most important events in the local and community life of Frielingsdorf. Guest clubs and brotherhoods from Lindlar, Hartegasse, Helling, Linde, Süng and Waldbruch gathered at the Church of Saint Apollinaris for an impressive parade that put the new shooting family in the spotlight. But before the coronation took place, the festival offered a series of exciting shooting competitions on Friday and Saturday. Judith Weglage won the title of Bambini Princess with 251 rings, while Tiago Stelberg led the youth shooting team as Student Prince with 447 shots. The king of kings, Gerd Schulte, was also able to celebrate 218 shots, and the shooting princess, Malin Selbach, won with 270 shots. Ralf Dienst took the crown and the king's chain with an impressive 542 shots - a truly worthy king.

Tradition and celebrations

The shooting festival is more than just a competition; it combines community and tradition. The musical accompaniment by the orchestra of the Frielingsdorf Music Association ensured a good atmosphere among those present.

A festive tattoo concluded the coronation festivities, and the new majesties enjoyed their day of honor at the royal ball with the band “Die 2”, which rounded off the night. The fair offering with rides and snack stands make the Schützenfest an all-round lively event that not only combines tradition, but also the joy of celebrating.
