The enchanting musical “Cinderella” captivated the audience at the Metronom Theater in Oberhausen. The premiere took place on New Year's Eve, and for the two weeks ending January 15, audiences were treated to a magical performance that was met with a standing ovation. In this new production, based on the classic version by the Brothers Grimm, the audience follows the fate of Ella, who, after the death of her mother, suffers with her stepmother Colette and her daughters. Ella dreams of traveling by ship and during a May festival she meets Prince André, which makes her heart beat faster. But Colette has other plans and tries to thwart Ella's participation in the royal ball.
The magical transformation and the happy ending
A real highlight of the musical is the support Ella receives from the fairy godmother, who transforms her into a princess so that she can attend the ball. Of course there is also the famous midnight hour when the magic ends and Ella loses a golden shoe in a hurry. Prince André, who has fallen in love with Ella, sets out to find the unknown beauty whose foot fits into the shoe. In addition, eight performances are planned at the Deutsches Theater in Munich between March 24th and 29th, 2026.
