RWO sweeps Alstaden with 12: 0 away - the test game for the season preparation!
What a prelude to the new season! Rot-Weiß Oberhausen impressively demonstrated on June 25, 2025 at the test game against black and white Alstaden that they are ready to talk a good word in the new game year. With a majestic 12-0 victory in front of around 600 spectators in the Kuhle, the red-whites not only showed their skills, but also caused bright eyes among fans. Coach Sebastian Gunkel was more than satisfied with the number of spectators and the performance of his team.
The Tor Festival started in the 14th minute when Moritz Stoppelkamp scored the first goal after a submission of Phil Sieben. The RWO defensive did not last long: In the first half, it was possible to be captain except for five goals in the first 45 minutes. Alexander Mühling increased to 2-0 (20th minute) and Christopher Schepp laced the premature package with a goal in the 41st minute. Stoppelkamp could not be broken even after the break and marked his second booth before the half -time break (45th minute). Phil Sieben led shortly before the change of sides with the 5: 0 (45+2nd minute).
The second round in the sign of the direct hit
The second section started and RWO was not yet full. In just less than half an hour, the result ads filled up on an almost incredible 12: 0. Luca Schlax, Elias Demirarslan, Ayman Aourir and Glody Ngyombo were the clocks who completed the list of goalscorers. Gunkel changed the goalkeeper due to the clear result and used Jannis Knoblauch to reduce the strain for the regular keeper Ryan Valentine.
But not everything was perfect. Alstaden's Serdy Nguala had a great option, but it was brilliantly tackled by RWO goalkeeper Valentine. For Gunkel, the test game was a great opportunity to use almost all players. The only one who is in the construction training is Illia Poliakov. Michel Niemeyer was in the squad, but was not used and his future with the club remains uncertain.
What's next?
The most exciting weeks of preparation for the RWO are now starting. On June 28th, they welcome the third division club SC Verl to another test game, which could certainly be just as promising. At the start of training, Gunkel emphasized the importance of these test games on June 16: they are crucial for preparing for the upcoming 2025/2026 season. It is not just about fitness and team spirit, also nutrition, regeneration and fun are on the agenda. Modern aids such as video analyzes should also help so that the RWO team can start tactically.
Overall, the team under Gunkel started the season preparation with a clear plan. The first training session was on June 16, followed by a friendly on June 21 at the sports fans Königshardt, and now the spectacular game against Alstaden. The anticipation of the new season is noticeable among players and fans!
