Horrible accident in Oberhausen: car crashes into scaffolding!
On November 7, 2025, the Oberhausen district reminded how quickly life can change. At 2:48 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident on Mülheimer Straße when, for reasons that are still unclear, a car got onto the sidewalk and crashed into scaffolding about three meters high. How police.news reported, the vehicle first stopped at the window of a car dealership. Fortunately, the person involved in the accident was able to get out of the car on their own and was looked after by people present until the emergency services arrived and took them to hospital.
However, the consequences of the accident were dramatic, because the scaffolding, which was severely damaged by the impact, was in danger of falling over and thus posed an acute danger to the public traffic area. The fire department showed its excellent organizational skills: They immediately initiated safety measures, closed Mülheimer Straße in the direction of Sterkrade and ensured that the unstable scaffolding was partially dismantled because a specialist company was not immediately available. The fire brigade was on site with 18 emergency services and had to lend a hand until the scaffolder arrived, who finally took over the complete dismantling. The emergency services were able to officially finish their work at 4:50 p.m. and hand over the security measures to the police.
Traffic disruptions and security measures
The accident caused considerable traffic chaos. Mülheimer Straße was closed in the direction of Sterkrade, which led to traffic jams and delays in the entire area. The fire brigade was quickly deployed and once again showed how important well-coordinated rescue measures and quick reactions are in such emergency situations.
Investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing and police have begun work to determine how this incident occurred. The support from residents and the quick response of all emergency services make it clear how important a functioning community and professional help are in critical moments.
In a completely different part of the world, in Texas, the population is preoccupied with something completely different - the firefighters' battle against the devastating fires in Gillespie County that broke out on Crabapple Road in mid-March. This chronology of events shows the importance of preventive measures and that the causes are investigated by the fire department in order to avoid future disasters. It shows once again how unexpected a fire can strike, whether in Oberhausen or Texas, and how valuable the quick response of the rescue workers is.
The events in Oberhausen remind us that safety comes first and that community, as in the case of those present, are the values that hold us together in difficult times.
