Sondaschule celebrates return with new album We stay awake”!

The Cologne band SONDASCHULE has big plans: On September 26th, 2025 they will release their new studio album “We stay awake”. This release comes three years after its predecessor “Invincible”, which reached number 2 in the album charts. The band, known for their energetic mix of ska, punk and reggae, aims to convey positive energy and promote optimism with the new album, as radioactive-mag reports.

The release concert, originally scheduled for September 12th, 2025, has been postponed to September 26th and will take place in the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen. This is a special step for the band, as they will not only present the new songs, but also play them live on stage. The excitement is rising as fans can look forward to 12 new tracks produced by Vincent Sorg and offered in a limited “Liquid Gold Edition”. This version includes exciting extras such as beer vinyl and screen-printed vinyl, making the whole thing a real collector's item, as sondaschule.de mentions.

Tour dates at a glance

Unlike many bands, great emphasis is placed on the live performance. There are numerous concerts on the program in November and December 2025, including performances in well-known cities:

  • 29. November 2025: Hannover, Swiss Life Hall
  • 11. Dezember 2025: Stuttgart, Im Wizemann

  • 22. Dezember 2025: Wiesbaden, Schlachthof (Zusatzkonzert)

The concert in Düsseldorf will be a particularly big event, where the band wants to perform in front of 7,600 fans. This extensive tour follows three sold-out tours in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and once again underlines the band's high status in the scene.

A look at the past

However, the path to the SPECIAL SCHOOL was not always easy. The loss of founding member and guitarist Daniel “Blubbi” Junker in 2021, shortly before the release of “Unbesiegbar”, was a hard blow for the band. Nevertheless, it shows that SONDASCHULE has a good knack for musical innovation and can attack again with the new album. The lyrics, which are viewed with a wink, use themes such as chaos, punk and self-criticism and show that the band has retained its humor and idiosyncrasies even as it has evolved.

Compared to its predecessor, the new album is described as a fusion of fresh sounds and a catchy pop attitude, which is very popular in the musical scene, as livegigs.de notes. The humorous aspects of the text and the cheerful mood also make “We Stay Awake” a promising work.

Overall, it shows that SONDASCHULE is ready to delight its fans with new material and invite them to exciting live experiences. The anticipation for the upcoming concerts is definitely huge!
