NABU Olpe invites you: Bat Night delights young and old alike!
Something is happening in Cologne! NABU Olpe invites everyone interested to two exciting excursions as part of the International Bat Night. On August 23rd and 30th, nature lovers can experience the fascinating way of life of bats up close. The first evening hike begins on Saturday, August 23rd, at 8:30 p.m. at the parking lot in Lennepark in Finnentrop. A week later, on August 30th, the participants will meet at the same time at the indoor swimming pool in Olpe. Both events start with an informative introduction before heading out into nature to observe the mysterious flying skills of the nocturnal animals.
Things get particularly exciting with the bat detectors, which allow participants to hear the high-frequency calls of bats. These excursions are not only suitable for fluttering mouse fans, but also for families with children. On this occasion, it is advisable to bring a powerful flashlight and a little time so that everyone can enjoy the night to the fullest. So if you want to find out more about the little flying artists, you shouldn't miss these opportunities, because there's something going on!
Fun for the whole family
With these excursions, NABU Olpe has initiated a great offer for young and old. The events not only promise exciting insights into the way bats live, but also a wonderful opportunity to spend time in nature and promote interest in the local wildlife.
Talking to the organizers shows that there is great enthusiasm for bats. “We want to inform people about the importance of these animals for our ecosystem,” said a NABU spokesman. And this is particularly important because many people often don't know what a valuable role bats play.
Bats as ambassadors of the night
You really shouldn't miss this opportunity because bats are not only fascinating, they are also a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Some people even see these flying mammals as ambassadors of the night, drawing our attention to the beauty of the dark.
Overall, the excursions offer an excellent opportunity to get to know the wildlife and your own environment better. So if you don't know what to do on these Saturdays, you now have a perfect plan in hand!
