On Monday, July 7th, 14 candidates set out on an exciting journey in Olpe: their internship at the district police authority has begun. This exciting endeavor will last until the end of August and promises a first insight into the world of police work. Representatives of the staff council and the police stations from Olpe, Lennestadt and Attendorn warmly welcomed the new faces. Local plus reports that Police Director Ralf Kluxen made the authority's expectations clear to the candidates in his speech.
In the first week, the candidates have numerous sporting activities, shooting and operational training on the program. There are a variety of tasks that you will take on independently. On Friday of the introductory week they can look forward to their first field assignment. Kluxen emphasized the importance of receiving instructions from experienced colleagues and that they must always pay attention to their own safety and that of their colleagues.

The internship, which is also open to students from North Rhine-Westphalia, offers the opportunity to experience police work up close. From the ninth grade onwards, students can complete a one-week internship with almost all police authorities.
