The city of Olpe hosted a brilliant wine festival last weekend, which proved to be a real visitor magnet. From September 12th to 14th, the market square was transformed into an inviting festival area with a stylish lounge character. In wonderful weather, visitors not only enjoyed first-class wines, but also a variety of culinary delicacies offered along the stands. The Sauerlandkurier reports that this year the organizers were supported by the Kemper grain distillery, which is known for its quality craftsmanship and regional ties.
Paul Rademacher from the Kornbrennerei actively took on the role of organizer and put on a varied program that thrilled the guests. On Friday and Saturday the celebrations were extended until midnight, which was a big plus for all night owls. Residents and visitors could look forward to fine wines from German growing regions as well as international rarities.
Family day and local presentations
Sunday particularly stood out because it was a family day that offered an exciting program for young and old. From a children's carousel to the exciting rodeo bull riding, there was something for everyone. The shops in the city center were also open and invited visitors to browse and stroll from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In addition, local car dealerships presented their latest models on Saturday and Sunday, which made the festival even more attractive.
The opening times of the wine festival were generous, so that visitors could celebrate between 4:00 p.m. and midnight on Friday and Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. The event was very well received by the population, and many are already looking forward to the next edition in Olpe.
