Pride Month 2025: NRW celebrates with colorful CSD parades and strong messages!
June is not only the month of summer sun, but it also brings a colorful wave of diversity in North Rhine-Westphalia: “Pride Month”. Numerous Christopher Street Days (CSD) take place around the celebrations, which send a strong signal for the rights of the queer community. One of the largest CSD events in North Rhine-Westphalia will be celebrated in Cologne on July 6th, under the motto: "For queer rights - many. Together. Strong!". The CSD program in Cologne begins on June 21st, and the highlight, the big demonstration parade, will take place on July 6th at 11.30 a.m. It is very clear here that the Cologne CSD in 2025 will be the largest Pride event in the region.

- Essen: 2. August 2025, Ruhr Pride, Demo um 12 Uhr.
Overall, a large number of CSDs will be taking place in North Rhine-Westphalia until the end of August to raise awareness of the rights of LGBTQ+ people and promote respectful coexistence. Christopher Street Day not only has this local, but also a historical background: it commemorates the Stonewall riots that took place in New York in 1969. Colorful celebrations and strong messages
Even before the Cologne events, the CSD took place in Düsseldorf on June 21st, where thousands of people took to the streets for equality and acceptance. Something similar happened in Trier, where around 1,500 participants took part in the CSD People's friend reported.
