In Wermelskirchen the signs point to celebration and entertainment! On Sunday, October 27th, the Sunday shopping event will take place under the motto “à la carte”, organized by the marketing association “We in Wermelskirchen” (WiW). From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Telegrafenstrasse will be transformed into a journey of discovery for young and old. Visitors can look forward to many discounts and promotions in retail, while culinary offers from clubs and suppliers provide delicious delicacies.
But that's not all! You're sure to find one or two bargains at the flea market in the city center. And younger visitors can look forward to the fascinating arts of magician Giovanni Alecci. Animal lovers big and small can also get to know the animals from the Fiebig family's falconry and forest school. The counting slip campaign, which offers ten main prizes and 2,500 prizes, is particularly exciting.
Cultural highlights of the region
On the same weekend, the “Bridge Festival” is celebrated in Solingen, which has the motto “Ohligs connects”. The shops here also open their doors from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and present a colorful supporting program. There is an impressive exhibition of cars and motorcycles in the market square. Musically, the festival will be enriched by the band “Em Brass” and the juggling show by “Mr Jeminé”. The “Night of Culture and Churches” in Remscheid offers special cultural highlights, where museums and churches offer a special program on Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Another musical treat will be served at the Burger Kirche on Saturday, October 25th. The band “Fragile Matt” invites you to a concert at 7 p.m., where tickets are available for 15 euros. For those interested in art, the art association's annual exhibition opens in the community centers on Friday and can also be seen on Saturday and Sunday. And for the active athletes among us, the X-ray run is on the program on Sunday. Over 3,100 participants have registered for the various distances from 5 km to 63.3 km. The start and finish is the Hackenberg sports center in Remscheid.
Christmas anticipation in Düsseldorf
If you look into the future, there will be a special highlight from November 20th: Roncalli’s Christmas promenade on the banks of the Rhine in Düsseldorf will open its doors until December 30th. In 2022, over a million visitors flocked to this event. With 36 stalls, the promenade offers a mix of art, culture and culinary delights. There are, among other things, covered pop-up restaurants, as well as a variety of handmade products.
Families can particularly look forward to the child-friendly program that is available in many cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, such as: B. at the Christmas market at Cologne Cathedral, makes your eyes light up. Visitors can expect over 130 stalls with handicrafts, gastronomy and social projects, while the maritime flair at the harbor Christmas market at the chocolate museum invites you to linger.
