Korschenbroich City Orchestra: 3,500 euros collected for children in need!

What a great event in Korschenbroich! The spring concert of the Korschenbroich City Orchestra took place on May 25, 2025, which was not only musically inspiring but was also organized for a very special purpose. In bright sunshine, numerous visitors made a pilgrimage to the schoolyard of the high school, where the entire afternoon was dedicated to music. The motto “Joy and happiness increase when shared” was more than just a saying – it came to life!

The concert, which started at 3:30 p.m., was organized jointly by the Korschenbroich City Orchestra, the youth wind orchestra of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Music School and the Niersblech brass ensemble. This varied musical afternoon attracted young and old, and the good atmosphere was almost tangible. Adults could look forward to admission prices of 12 euros, while young people could take part for just 6 euros and children up to 10 years old could even take part for free.

Help for a good cause

The proceeds from the concert went to KinderDirekthilfe Korschenbroich e.V., which is committed to helping children in need around the world. A total of an incredible 3,500 euros were collected from the proceeds and presented to the chairman of KinderDirekthilfe, Karl-Heinz Göris. The handover took place during a recent rehearsal to great applause, and Göris warmly thanked the musicians for their commitment. It's impressive how music can connect and at the same time provide support for those in need - not only the listeners won, but also the many children who will benefit from this help.

The tickets could be purchased in advance at various local shops, such as the Rippegather room furnishings and the Barbers bookstore, as well as directly from the orchestra members. There was also the opportunity to support the campaign by purchasing tickets for the Whitsun raffle 2025 - a great opportunity to do even more good and perhaps win a small prize at the same time.

A look ahead to further concerts

But that's not all: the anticipation for the autumn concerts is already growing! These are planned for October 11th and 12th. Anyone who values music experiences as well as the good feeling of doing good should definitely save these dates.

Even though musical benefit concerts have been a tradition in other cities like Berlin for many years - such as the Unionhilfswerk's concerts to support hospice work for the elderly - Korschenbroich remains a very special place of harmony and charity. Let's enjoy the music and use it to support those who need our help the most - because in the end it's not just what we do for ourselves that counts, but how we can make a difference together.
