Czech Amazon Musialova triumphs at Düsseldorfer Pearl Necklace!
A remarkable victory was celebrated in Düsseldorf on October 3, 2025! 29-year-old Michaela Musialova from the Czech Republic triumphed at the prestigious Pearl Necklace Prize. This was the second time that the competition was held on the racecourse in Düsseldorf. Musialova secured the overall victory after showing excellent performances in the final on August 3 with the underdog Night Glory, trained by Frank Fuhrmann from Magdeburg. Although she only achieved second place in the final, the points from her previous races were enough to celebrate overall victory.
Last year's winner, Nina Baltromei, was unable to defend her title this year. Although she won the last race with her horse All my Loving, Musialova's points were decisive. Musialova collected a total of 16 points - seven more than Baltromei's 13 points. The third place, Lilli-Marie Engels, was in Hanover and got ten points. Musialova herself proved to be a surprising winner, having only completed eight rides this year, of which she only won once. Her modesty came through when she said after the win that she no longer expected to win.
The tradition of the pearl necklace
The pearl necklace competition has a long tradition, which began in Neuss in 1961 and last took place in 2019. Harald von Gustedt, the then managing director of the Neuss racing club, was the initiator of this popular event. This year the event was enthusiastically taken over by the Düsseldorf racing club, which is continuing the tradition.
Two exciting races in Compensation IV and II also took place on race day. In the “Prize of the German Opera on the Rhine”, which went over 1,400 meters, the favorite Repute, a seven-year-old son of Acclamation, clearly prevailed under jockey Wladimir Panov. Trained by Frank Fuhrmann, who said happily after the race: “He was really due.” Repute showed a very convincing performance and added another win to his previous three placings.
A look into the future
The upcoming Gottfried Schultz Midsummer Race Day on June 17, 2025 is also a must for horse fans. Seven horse races await spectators at the racetrack in Düsseldorf, while the event is rounded off with a performance by the Düsseldorf cult band “Porno al Forno”. The event is supported by Gottfried Schultz, the largest contractual partner for Volkswagen brands in Germany, and the prize money for the highlight, the Gottfried Schultz Grand Prix, is an impressive 25,000 euros.
For every horse racing enthusiast, such events are an excellent opportunity to experience exciting races and at the same time enjoy the atmosphere of a lively event, in keeping with the tradition of horse racing in Düsseldorf. Further information about the upcoming races can be found on the Deutscher Galopp website.
