Airport festival in Siegen: air shows, family fun and more!
On Sunday, August 24th, Siegerland Airport will be the scene of a colorful festival that is all about aviation. Under the motto “We celebrate what we love,” Siegerland-Flughafen GmbH, together with the district administration of Siegen-Wittgenstein, invites you to the airport festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A truly special occasion as 2025 marks the district’s anniversary year. [siegener-zeitung] reports that the event has a varied program that will appeal not only to flight enthusiasts but also to families.
A comprehensive flight program with exciting air shows and sightseeing flights awaits visitors. According to [Flughafenfest-Siegerland], among other things, the Federal Police Aviation Group will be represented with their helicopters. Air sports clubs such as LSV Hellertal and the Geisweid Aviation Sports Association also show off their skills. A special highlight are the historic machines that take to the skies during the Flying Legends airplane ballet. Unicair GmbH will also be exhibiting an ambulance aircraft, which is worth a look. The program also includes hangar openings by the Air Alliance Group and Ascend Aviation Group, as well as exciting helicopter tours by KayFly GmbH, which will provide insights into the world of aviation.
Entertainment for young and old
The airport festival offers more than just aviation attractions. Live bands and various acts provide the musical accompaniment. There will also be a raffle, the proceeds of which - as well as the proceeds from the event - will go to Reiner Meutsch's FLY & HELP Foundation, which supports educational projects for children worldwide. Children can look forward to lots of fun activities, including a bouncy castle and face painting. An experience that leaves nothing to be desired!
The security precautions should not be underestimated: over 100 emergency services will be on site to ensure safety and order. Parking arrangements and a shuttle service are also planned to ensure everything runs smoothly. Entry costs 15 euros, while children up to 12 years have free access.
