Jekyll & Hyde comes back: All Saints' Day fair with surprises!

Things are boiling again in Soest! The anticipation for the 687th All Saints' Fair is great, but an unexpected turn of events causes excitement. The popular ride “Intoxx”, known for its exciting flips, is canceled this year. The operator canceled for personal reasons, which means additional work for the event organizers. Bethel Thelen, the operator of the fair, announced that they had more work to do, especially when it came to staff planning, since the season was actually already over. A downer, but not the end of the world.

We can once again look forward to the “Jekyll & Hyde” ride, which is coming to Soest for the third time. This high-speed ride will amaze visitors with its 42-meter height and speeds of up to 130 km/h. The location of “Jekyll & Hyde” is currently in the Eifel at the Lukasmarkt in Mayen, before moving to the fair in Soest. The operators come from Paderborn, which makes the route to Soest short as usual and only increases the anticipation of action and thrills. This attraction will certainly be a highlight for many, as will the comeback of the “Happy Sailor” ride, which returns under new direction after a break of several years.

The tradition of the All Saints' Fair

The All Saints Fair, which is held by November 4th to 8th, 2026 will take place is not only the largest folk festival in North Rhine-Westphalia, but also one of the oldest in Germany. First mentioned in a document in 1338 as a cattle market, the fair in the historic old town of Soest has developed into an indispensable part of regional culture. It attracts around a million visitors every year and offers a diverse selection of rides, stalls and special events.

In addition to the large rides, a highlight of this year's fair will also be the “horse market” on Thursday. The event is traditionally symbolized by the figure of the “Jägerken von Soest”, an important part of the fair’s history. The old, narrow streets of the old town offer a unique setting that is appreciated throughout the region.

Arrival and parking options

Anyone planning to go to the fair should be prepared for the journey. Parking options are limited due to the event's central location. It is recommended to use public transport. Free Park+Ride buses run every 15 minutes and connect the large parking lots on the outskirts of the city with the city center. Important stops are the Süd-Ost commercial area, Georg-Dahlhoff-Straße and Senator-Schwartz-Ring.

Bicycle parking spaces can also often be found around the edge of the fair, ideal for anyone who wants to travel in an environmentally friendly way. Soest train station is well connected to the public transport network, which reduces the walk to the fair to just 5-10 minutes. Additional trips and special trains will be provided during the fair so that everyone can travel comfortably to the celebrations.

The anticipation for the All Saints' Fair in Soest is palpable! It remains to be seen what other surprises await us with the start of this traditional folk festival.
