New hope: Nico Schöttle dreams of the Final Four with BHC!

The first games with the new team are coming soon – that is the perspective for Nico Schöttle, the breath of fresh air at Bergischer HC (BHC). At the tender age of 22, the Swabian can already look back on a number of successes, and the fans in Solingen hope that he can use his skills to lead their lions to new heights. Reported about it Radio RSG in his current podcast “LöwenZeit”.

Nico Schöttle grew up in Birkenfeld, Swabia, and started his handball career at TV Birkenfeld before being promoted to the Bundesliga via SG Pforzheim/Eutingen. His first professional performances at TVB Stuttgart caused a stir among the experts early on. He made his debut in the first league on December 2, 2021 against GWD Minden and showed from the start that he has what it takes to make a name for himself in German handball. During the 2023/24 season, Schöttle also achieved the right to play a second game for ASV Hamm-Westfalen. The team will urgently need him as a valuable player in the fight for the title.

A player with self-reflection

But despite his young age, Schöttle is anything but arrogant. He still sees room for improvement in his game. In the podcast he emphasizes that he cannot return for the upcoming cup game against Hannover and deeply regrets this. The fans, on the other hand, are optimistic: for them, the dream of the Final Four is far from over. With his attitude, Schöttle seems to fit perfectly into the team, which relies on perseverance and unconditional belief in one's own strengths.

He will not forget his time at TVB Stuttgart, because there he not only gained match practice, but was also able to celebrate some successes, such as with the German youth national team. He would like to continue this path at Bergischer HC. This sounds like an exciting time for the handball professional who has the courage to question himself and always wants to develop further.

In the “LöwenZeit” podcast about the future

In the last episode of the podcast it is also clear that Schöttle enjoys sharing his experiences. He talks about how important it is to use your time with your smartphone wisely. In today's digital world, many players like him use certain apps to track their performance data or improve their liveliness on the field. He also has a penchant for collecting Sanifair coupons, which makes him a bit of a trendsetter.

The podcast, which offers a hearty mix of sport, personal information and a good dose of humor, is a joint project between Radio RSG and the Solinger Tageblatt - a perfect platform to put the new additions like Schöttle in the spotlight and give fans an insight into the team.

The fans and the entire team react promisingly to Schöttle's breath of fresh air. The coming season could hold some surprises for him and the Lions. So let’s see what the next games bring!
