Martin's market in Ledde: family festival with street dancing and treats!

The Martinsmarkt in Ledde is just around the corner and promises a colorful program for the whole family. On November 8, 2025, visitors can look forward to a fireworks display of activities and culinary highlights. This traditional market will take place on the grounds of the Ledde primary school and begins at 1 p.m. with an exciting football tournament for primary school students. This will be followed by the official opening by Mayor Stefan Streit at 2:30 p.m. The rural women's cafeteria and numerous stands with craft and culinary offerings will also be open from this point on, as wn.de reports.

The little ones in particular don't miss out at the Martinsmarkt. A children's carousel, face painting, craft activities and a raffle with great prizes await you. At 3 p.m., TSC Ibbenbüren will present a fascinating street dance program in the schoolyard. There will be demonstrations in hip hop, breakdance and cheerleading, supported by a donation from Kreissparkasse Steinfurt. The trombone choir will also provide musical entertainment and will provide musical accompaniment to the lantern parade at 5 p.m.

Lantern parade and St. Martin's story

A real highlight is the lantern parade, which starts at 5 p.m. with the children and their glowing lanterns. Before this festive procession, the St. Martin's story is impressively staged by the children from the “The Mustard Seed” kindergarten. The parade itself will last around 30 minutes and therefore offers enough opportunity for all visitors, young and old, to enjoy the special ambience.

In addition, the scouts have organized baking bread on sticks over an open fire, which will put visitors in the right shivers. From 5.30 p.m. you can dance to children's disco sounds in the gym. The Martinsmarkt in Ledde is open until 8 p.m., providing plenty of time to explore the many attractions.

Creativity and art at the Martinsmarkt

For everyone who is interested in handicrafts, there will be another St. Martin's Market on November 8th and 9th in Niederkassel-Uckendorf. More than 60 exhibitors show their handmade products in the “Old School” and in the schoolyard and the village square. Here visitors can expect stalls with woodwork, woolen goods, jewelry and homemade specialties, among other things. This creative market is becoming more popular every year and attracts more and more visitors, as allevents.in shows.

The event in Niederkassel is characterized by a cozy atmosphere, supported by a heated tent for visitors. The market stalls will be open from Saturday, November 8th, from 11 a.m. to Sunday, November 9th, until 10 a.m. Here guests can linger and be inspired with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.

Therefore, dear readers, keep November 8th and 9th free to visit the St. Martin's markets in Ledde and Niederkassel. There's something for everyone here and the run-up to Christmas couldn't be started any better! Be there and let yourself be enchanted by the lights, sounds and the many shining eyes of the children!
