CVJM Kamen: Historic title at the German Championships!
There is great joy at the CVJM Kamen! Last weekend, the female B youth team was able to celebrate the title at the German CVJM Championships. This was a very special tournament, not only because of the title won, but also because the youth DCM took place in the city of Kamen for the first time.
With coach Stephan “Blizzzzi” Ostermann on the sidelines, the team put in an impressive performance and remained undefeated throughout the tournament. In the grand final, which was played against the club from Enzweihingen, the score was level at 8:8 before Kamen 1 was able to pull away to 18:8.
Eternal fame and high standards
With this success, the CVJM Kamen not only consolidated first place in the all-time table, but also secured its first title in the female B youth age group and its 22nd title overall at the DCM. The second team, Kamen 2, also showed a strong performance, despite the unfortunate loss in the game for third place against Nordhausen, where a point could not be counted shortly before the end of the game.
A total of 25 teams competed in the male and female A and B youth leagues at the championships in Kamen. There was also a hard fight for the title in the male B youth category. Kamen 1 took second place in Group B, but had to admit defeat to CVJM Rußheim 2 in the quarterfinals. In the end, the CVJM Landshut secured the title in this category.
A successful event
The organization of the tournament was rated as excellent and there were no major injuries. Deputy Mayor Denis Aschhoff expressed his thanks to those responsible at the CVJM at the award ceremony. The commitment and outstanding organization helped ensure that everyone involved felt comfortable and was able to enjoy the games.
The history and tradition of the YMCA are of remarkable importance. The sports section of the youth association was founded as early as 1891, which led to the development of popular sports such as basketball and volleyball. Since then, the CVJM has continued to develop and organizes numerous championships and events that promote community spirit and sporting competition. This is also clear in the current championship, where teams can not only compete in sports but also make friends.
A warm congratulations to the female B youth of the CVJM Kamen on this great success! It will be exciting to see how the young people's performance will develop in the coming years. A special thank you also goes to these silent heroes in the background who organize and carry out such events.
