Eberl's poker for Woltemade: Is it really worth the 80 million euros?

In the world of football, everything currently revolves around striker Nick Woltemade. The 23-year-old has a contract with VfB Stuttgart until 2028 and is the focus of Bayern Munich, where speculation about a possible move is increasing.

FC Bayern's sports director Max Eberl recently commented on the transfer situation and asked whether Woltemade was really worth 80 million euros. He regrets the exaggerations in transfer journalism and emphasizes that Bayern will not pay him excessive sums. “We have to save,” says Eberl and refers to the departures of stars like Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané, which makes the purchase of such a player seem almost absurd given the existing budget requirements, as Antenne Unna reports.

Solid agreement between players and clubs

But things seem to be coming to a head. On Thursday evening it was reported that both Nick Woltemade and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement on future cooperation. The contract could run until 2030 and the player's salary, currently at 1.5 million euros, could rise to an impressive 2.5 million euros. Another report from Transfermarkt highlights that an agreement between Woltemade and Bayern is already on the cards, while VfB Stuttgart was surprised by this development and would like to refrain from selling the talent in the coming season.

The negotiations apparently took place in silence. This led to discussions between Eberl and Woltemade's agent, of which VfB Stuttgart had no knowledge. Nevertheless, Stuttgart's CEO Alexander Wehrle emphasizes that they want to go into the next season with Woltemade, which makes the situation all the more exciting.

Woltemade in top shape

Apart from the transfer rumors, it should be noted that Woltemade is also in top form in terms of sport: he has already scored six goals in four games at the U21 European Championship and is currently in the final against England. This fuels speculation about a transfer and shows that Woltemade is not only a talented player, but also a sought-after performer. According to Sports Yahoo, this could give his future career further positive impetus.

The coming days should be exciting, because whether Bayern Munich can really sign Woltemade is anyone's guess. The fans can look forward to the developments and wonder what will happen next for the talented striker. The competition in Munich's attack is strong, but the chance to play in the Champions League and receive a higher salary could be extremely tempting for Woltemade.
