Unna district celebrates 50 years: family festival and open day!
In 2025, the Unna district will be 50 years old, and a variety of celebrations are planned to mark this special occasion. The series of festivities is led by the big oneOpen House, the onJune 28, 2025, takes place in the Unna district hall. District Administrator Mario Löhr cordially invites all citizens to celebrate this anniversary together and to discover the surprises that the administration has in store for visitors.
TheOpen Houseis all about citizen friendliness. From10 a.m. to 5 p.mFamilies can get to know the different departments and subject areas of the district administration. The highlight is a vehicle show at which rescue and emergency control vehicles, a Unimog, a multifunctional vehicle and an electric bus are on display. Younger guests in particular are catered for with two bouncy castles, an extensive range of food and plenty of seating on the premises.
Diverse program for young and old
A colorful oneStage programwill entertain visitors throughout the day. Highlights are oneMagic showfrom Circus Pompitz at 11 a.m., as well as the city cycling award ceremony. Musical performances by children, the teachers' band “Rotstiftpause”, a dance show by a youth group and jazz music also promise the best entertainment. An interactive quiz from Antenne Unna and hands-on activities for the whole family ensure that no visitor misses out.
The district administration stands offer interesting insights into everyday working life. TheDepartment of Geoinformation and Cadastrewill, for example, present measuring devices and a drone during theDepartment of Road TrafficSpeed camera cars and an enforcement trailer are shown. A special attraction is the opportunity to receive a souvenir photo free of charge when using a flash.
A whole year of celebrations
But that's not all! The Unna district has a lot coming up for the whole of 2025. This is how it happened onMay 8, 2025celebrated a volunteer gala in Kamen, and onMay 17, 2025A colorful family day in Holzwickede and a children's fire brigade festival in Bönen are on the program. A central ceremony with a speech by Norbert Lammert will also take place onJune 16, 2025take place at Cappenberg Castle.

These include a harbor festival in Bergkamen, a cultural program for the whole family in Fröndenberg, as well as a street festival in Werne and a world street theater in Schwerte, all from June to August.
