New Model Army rocks Dinslaken: A look back at a legendary concert!

What an evening it was! New Model Army, a band that was very popular with many fans not only during their youth, celebrated another sold-out concert in Cologne on August 14, 2025. With this, the group put an impressive end to this year's performances in Germany, after the shows in Dinslaken and many other cities had already been completely sold out. An enthusiastic fan base and an energetic band made hearts beat faster.

The notable tour is shaping up to be exciting as all postponed shows announced for 2024 have now been rescheduled for 2025. And the tickets? Of course they remain valid – a good hand for the fans! During the concert, the audience kept the rhythm with heavy stomping - an influence that comes from the iconic performances in the 80s, when loud and sometimes threatening behavior from fans in the front rows could be felt. Particularly impressive were the special shoes with wooden fittings, which added to the noise and created a unique experience, the older fans remembered the wild punks of the time.

40 years of the New Model Army

Next year the band can already look back on an impressive 40-year career. Justin Sullivan, the frontman, describes his band's preferred recording environment as cold, harsh and desolate. Their latest work “From Here” was recorded in a studio on the island of Giske in Norway and perfectly reflects the wild landscape in which the songs were created. The music is powerful, urgent and vital, exactly as today's political and social issues demand. Their album features songs that deal with climate change and social issues, such as the profound "The Weather," which is considered one of the band's most powerful political songs.

Another highlight of the new album is “End Of Days”, which deals with the negative effects of social media and the current political situation. With provocative texts, Sullivan criticizes the acceptance of politicians like Trump and Boris Johnson. It becomes clear: New Model Army's music always carries a political element that deals with humanism, spirituality and nature.

The future is promising

What's next? Fans can look forward to numerous more concerts in Europe, including performances in cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh. The show on December 14, 2025 in Cologne will be particularly interesting and is already in high demand.
