The 21-year-old, born on May 29, 2000, brings a lot of experience with him. In his first professional season for the Lions of TSV 1860 Munich, he played 19 third division games and scored valuable assists. In the summer of 2021 he dared to move to Austria to WSG Tirol and impressed there with six assists in 20 games. This was followed by stints at Spartak Moscow, where he was active for almost two and a half years, and at Lyngby BK in Denmark. Now he will play for Darmstadt 98 with the number 3 on his shirt.
An exciting journey
Klassen's career should be viewed as a real showcase case. A true football diamond in the rough, he was born in Germany and has both Russian and German roots. At youth level, he has represented the Russian national team in the U17 to U21 age groups, demonstrating his international experience. “Preparation with the team is particularly important for me,” says Klassen, who has already gotten to know some teammates and is positively impressed by the conditions at the club.
Like many young talents, Klassen also has to master the challenges of the football business.
