TuS Ahrweiler defies storm and rain at the fruit mile!

The traditional fruit mile took place in Altendorf-Ersdorf on October 28, 2025, an event that, despite strong winds and wet conditions, did not dampen the sporting spirit of the participants. TuS Ahrweiler was represented by a sizeable group of runners, which made them particularly special in this adverse weather. The mood was still euphoric and the participants were highly motivated.

The running routes led through the autumn-colored orchards and offered not only sporting challenges, but also a picturesque backdrop. The persistent rain started just in time for the starting signal, but that didn't stop the athletes from giving their best. The Bambinis, the 400 meters and the children who covered a distance of 1000 meters particularly stood out.

Results and successes

The winners of the various distances were rewarded with much applause:

  • 400m-Distanz:
    • 1. Platz W6: Paula Sebastian
    • 2. Platz M5: Anton Bauer
  • 1000m-Distanz:
    • 1. Platz WU12: Carlotta Bauer
    • 3. Platz WU12: Paula Bischoff
  • 10-Meilen-Distanz (16,1 km):
    • 1. Platz: Julien Jeandreé (55:50 min)
    • 2. Platz: Leon Schenke (59:17 min)

A particular success was the prestigious prize for the second largest participating group, which TuS Ahrweiler accepted. Considering the circumstances, a remarkable achievement!

Outlook on upcoming events

The next event is already in the starting blocks: the track finishes in the Apollinaris Stadium on November 7th. Here athletes can cover distances ranging from 50 meters for U12 to 3000 meters for competitive athletes. Those interested can find further information at www.tus-ahrweiler.de/leichtathletik.

Athletics is not only very popular at local events, but is also one of the most popular sports in Germany. Around 7.9 million people show great interest in this versatile discipline that combines running, jumping and throwing. This is reflected in the major events, such as the German Championships or the international competitions, which mobilize numerous athletes and spectators reports Statista.

The enthusiasm for running is unbroken, and even if the weather is often unpredictable, the athletes are ready to take on all challenges. TuS Ahrweiler impressively demonstrated last weekend that they are well prepared despite the wind and rain. The next event is eagerly awaited!
