40 years of dedication: District celebrates anniversaries of Marx and Schneider!

On November 11, 2025, the Alzey-Worms district administration celebrated two outstanding service anniversaries. Elmar Marx, who has worked in public service for 40 years and currently heads the district's waste management company (AWB), and Burkhard Schneider, managing director of the district youth association, were recognized for their services. District Administrator Sippel particularly praised the positive development of waste management under Marx's leadership, which not only significantly reduces the amount of residual waste, but is also a sign of the effectiveness of very good work. Alzey-Worms district administration reports that Marx was able to join the district administration in 1987 and shortly afterwards completed his training for the middle service.

Over the course of his career, Marx initially worked as a district inspector in the central department and then took over management of the public transport department until 2009, where he managed to successfully integrate school transport into local public transport. He has been leading the AWB with great commitment since 2015. Sippel emphasized how important the critical discussions with Marx are for finding joint solutions, which optimizes the working atmosphere and decision-making processes in the district.

At the head of the district youth ring

Burkhard Schneider, who has also been active in the district youth group for 40 years, also received warm congratulations. He organizes the various offerings of the working group and thus connects important youth associations. “His positive attitude towards young people makes a decisive contribution to youth work in the district,” emphasized District Administrator Sippel. Under Schneider's leadership, not only is further training supported, but equipment is also available, such as five buses for clubs. Alzey-Worms district administration highlights Schneider's central role as a link between politics and the concerns of young people.

Both anniversaries were awarded a certificate from Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer, which is a sign of recognition of their tireless commitment to the Alzey-Worms district. The ceremony underlined the appreciation for long-standing employees who work tirelessly for the benefit of the population.

Governance in the public sector
