Alzey-Worms district: Online applications for taxi and rental cars approved!

The new digital era in commercial passenger transport has begun! From now on, companies in the Alzey-Worms region can easily apply for their permits for taxis, rental cars and buses online. This innovative measure was announced by the Alzey-Worms district administration on September 24, 2025. This gives entrepreneurs a time-saving opportunity to easily claim all the necessary concessions under the Passenger Transport Act. The Alzey-Worms district administration reports that this new online service will make applying for applications much faster and more transparent.

The complete application is supplemented by the option of submitting required documents such as certificates of good conduct, proof of specialist knowledge and proof of financial ability online. The aim is to make the process easier for companies and reduce the processing time to around four weeks. All necessary information about requirements and required documents can also be found on the district administration website.

A step into the digital future

This offer follows the trend of many federal states, which are already making applications possible digitally. A look at Hesse shows that similar steps are being taken there with the Online Access Act. Numerous authorities are already using online applications for passenger transport permits in order to significantly optimize the processes for applicants and clerks.

The Hessian initiative was launched as part of the EfA project (“One for All”). This project aims to standardize passenger transport procedures nationwide and offer all interested authorities a digital solution. An interface for connection to existing specialist procedures was developed to make the authorities' work easier.

New online services in Bavaria

As in Bavaria, where many online services are available via BayernPortal, permit applications can also be processed conveniently over the Internet. The use of cookies to optimize the websites and protect personal data ensures a high level of user-friendliness. Applications for initial grants, extensions or amendments can also be submitted online, which significantly streamlines the procedures.

Overall, the facilitation of applications through these online services is seen as a right step towards massively reducing the administrative effort for companies in the transport sector. Interested companies in the region should now take the time to find out about the new online options and use the advantages of digitalization for themselves.
